Capstone Progress Week 4- First sketch feedback

High-level summary:

  1. Weekly learning is interesting as a guide through the process.
  2. People like the rate my husband idea. But it might be too demanding and create inequality between the two.
  3. Other ideas about the social platform and competition have arrived.
  4. Feedback on the concept is scattered. There is still a lack of motivation for the dads to come back to the app. Going back to the user journal for detailed user pain points.

Testing

Informal testing was done with 3 dads and 2 faculty members. The method was to have them go through the first sketch and interact with the design. Then record the contextual feedback.

Dashboard

The general layout is good. It is clear for the user to see what to do each week. But the preview of the coming weeks is not necessary for them because the time gap jump is large.

To do for the mom

It’s an interesting concept of having the wife rate what the husband has done for her. The moms actually would like to rate their husbands. However, they can see how it makes the dads passive again because their goals are to please the moms.

Performace review

It’s good to know your status. But to make it more motivating, the status needs to do more than just a dashboard. The idea of grouping dads into the Readers, Doers, and Equippers rose. Then the dads can find the groups that they are interested in and compete in the group about how much they accomplished for the baby prep.
